Our journey began at NIFT, where we gained not only an appreciation for India’s rich textile and craft heritage, but also a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the artisans who keep these traditions alive. We saw first-hand the complexities of sustaining traditional crafts in a rapidly changing world—and the need to create greater opportunities for the people behind them.
When Runkee decided to build a platform that could help address some of these challenges, the idea resonated with others who shared the same passion. What started as one person’s vision soon became a collective dream, with like-minded people joining hands to create something meaningful.
Our dream is simple: to make a difference in the lives of Indian artisans and help preserve, celebrate and promote India’s incredible art forms, craftsmanship and handmade products.
We believe that handmade is more than a product. It carries a story, a skill, a heritage and the hands of the person who created it.
Our hope is to bring these creations to the world and have them appreciated for what they truly are—the luxury of craftsmanship, culture and human connection.
